What is a good recipe for special effects blood bath that won't stain the tub (i.e No Kool AID) Any ideas?

We are filming a low budget scene with a girl floating in a tub of blood. What would be good to use? The lighting will be dim, so the colour of the blood doesn't have to be exact...just dark enough...What is a good recipe for special effects blood bath that won't stain the tub (i.e No Kool AID) Any ideas?
A lot of movie blood is just plain corn syrup (like ';Karo'; brand} with some red food coloring. You probably don't want bathwater that viscous, but you could fill a tub with water and add some until you get the desired effect. Or maybe just food coloring in bath water? I shouldn't stain a tub beyond cleanable. If you're not sure, test a small space of the tub first. What is a good recipe for special effects blood bath that won't stain the tub (i.e No Kool AID) Any ideas?
corn syrup is usually sticky and can stain. Try good old fashion ketchup, or if it is not the right look go ahead and go with the corn syrup mixture but you might have to use bleach and something with a little abrasion in it like comet to get it all out.
I can't think of anything that has'nt already been said. Maybe you could use some kind of dark red light that reflects on the water.
try tomato juice

I always use corn syrup red and blue food dye and milk
